East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) was required to undertake an authorisation process to become the local statutory body for health from April 2013.
As part of this process, the CCG was required to submit an application and supporting documents to demonstrate how these requirements were met.
These documents provide details of private interests of member practices and the governing body of East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
Our Staff, Governing Body and Committee declarations are validated at every formal meeting of the CCG. This is done by asking the relevant Members and Attendees about their declarations during a standing agenda item for each principal meeting of the CCG.
The NHS Constitution establishes the principles and values of the NHS in England.
It sets out rights to which patients, public and staff are entitled, and pledges which the NHS is committed to achieve, together with responsibilities which the public, patients and staff owe to one another to ensure that the NHS operates fairly and effectively.
All NHS bodies and private and third sector providers supplying NHS services are required by law to take account of this Constitution in their decisions and actions
The constitution and executive summary are the formal documents that outline all the work that East Staffordshire CCG does.
The government is committed to giving patients greater choice and control over how they receive their health care, and to empowering patients to shape and manage their own health and care. The NHS Choice Framework sets out some of the choices available to you in the NHS. It explains:
- When you have choices about your health care
- Where to get more information to help you choose
- How to complain if you are not offered a choice
More information about your choices when choosing your hospital or service can be found here
These documents outline the procedures East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group will follow in the event of a disaster.
As a public sector body, East Staffordshire CCG is required under the 2010 Equality Act to make provision for various obligations and legally-mandated duties conferred on us by the Act (known as the "Public Sector Equality Duty" or PSED). These PSED requirements relate to the CCG as an NHS Commissioner, local system leader and as an employer. When deploying our commissioning functions, we are required to promote equality and diversity and tackle health inequalities. Part of these duties relate to the publication of certain strategy documents, including our CCG objectives in this area, along with annual equality and inclusion reports to show how we are performing against those.
