What’s it all about?
From April 2016, Virgin Care will manage the Improving Lives Programme, which is designed to help local people with long term health conditions and our growing frail elderly population to live more independent and healthier lives. As part of their work to engage with local people Virgin Care has set up a Citizens’ Panel.
What is a Citizens’ Panel?
It’s a group of residents who help shape services by offering their views and insight into what matters to them, and what their priorities are.
The Citizens’ Panel has been set up to enable patients, carers and residents of East Staffordshire to have a say about how health and related services can be improved, so that everyone can feel happier, healthier and more in control.
What does signing up to be a member of the Citizens’ Panel mean?
Don’t worry - you won’t have to attend lots of meetings! As a member of the Citizens’ Panel you will be kept up to date about the work Virgin Care is doing in East Staffordshire and if you want to, you can also take part in surveys or become more involved. This could be by sharing your personal knowledge and experience of services, maybe by taking part in workshops and other projects which will happen over the coming months and years, and you can also help us to shape the way services are run in the area. But if you don’t want to do any of these things apart from being kept informed, well, that’s just fine by us.
