East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) was required to undertake an authorisation process to become the local statutory body for health from April 2013.
As part of this process, the CCG was required to submit an application and supporting documents to demonstrate how these requirements were met.
These documents provide details of private interests of member practices and the governing body of East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group.
Our Staff, Governing Body and Committee declarations are validated at every formal meeting of the CCG. This is done by asking the relevant Members and Attendees about their declarations during a standing agenda item for each principal meeting of the CCG.

The NHS Constitution establishes the principles and values of the NHS in England.
It sets out rights to which patients, public and staff are entitled, and pledges which the NHS is committed to achieve, together with responsibilities which the public, patients and staff owe to one another to ensure that the NHS operates fairly and effectively.
All NHS bodies and private and third sector providers supplying NHS services are required by law to take account of this Constitution in their decisions and actions

These documents outline the procedures East Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group will follow in the event of a disaster.
As a public sector body, East Staffordshire CCG is required under the 2010 Equality Act to make provision for various obligations and legally-mandated duties conferred on us by the Act (known as the "Public Sector Equality Duty" or PSED). These PSED requirements relate to the CCG as an NHS Commissioner, local system leader and as an employer. When deploying our commissioning functions, we are required to promote equality and diversity and tackle health inequalities. Part of these duties relate to the publication of certain strategy documents, including our CCG objectives in this area, along with annual equality and inclusion reports to show how we are performing against those.
Equality and Inclusion Annual Reports:
Papers submitted to the Governing Body support the CCG in making decisions about local healthcare or monitoring the quality and safety of services. This includes monitoring any patient and public involvement that has been undertaken, by the CCG or local NHS providers, and the patient experience of services.
Governing Body Members consider the feedback of any patient and public involvement when making commissioning decisions about local services alongside a Quality Impact Assessment (QIA) and an Equality Impact Risk Assessment. The QIAs and EIRAs are reviewed, monitored and assured by a panel, which includes independent Lay Members, before any papers can be submitted.
